HUPMOBILE project collaboration seminar on intelligent transport solutions (ITS) and logistics took place in Tartu on 13th of February 2020. The seminar gathered over 30 participants representing Estonian public and private sector actors, including municipalities, Ministry of Economical Affairs and Communications and ITS technology providers.

The main objective of this one-day seminar was to get on overview of the current ITS topics and plans of Tartu University and the municipality, increase collaboration and initiate new projects bridging different sectors. The first half of the meeting focused on discussing the research topics of the University of Tartu ITS team. The themes covered were the efficient use of mobility data, autonomous driving, efficient use of artificial intelligence in transportation etc. Several prospective topics for future cooperation have been identified by the participants and agreed to be jointly developed. During the second half of the day Mr. Raimond Tamm, Deputy Mayor of Tartu, presented an overview of Tartu City smart cycling, data-based public transportation and other intelligent transportation initiatives already implemented or planned in the future. The participants gave positive feedback to the seminar and networking opportunities and proposed to have similar events also in the future.

This event was organised in the framework of HUPMOBILE project activities targeted at facilitation of the ITS competence network in BSR involving public and private sector parties. Altogether, the project aims to hold 5 seminars/webinars as well as an international conference devoted to knowledge sharing and promotion of the available ITS solutions.
